dancas82 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Hey,I am new here and am trying to learn as much as I can about bidding on priceline and hotwire. I am getting married in December and am looking to honeymoon in San Diego over the New Years week. My fiancee and I would like to stay at the Hilton La Jolla Torrey Pines or in that area. I haven't seen any posts regarding this hotel in about a year (did a search)...so does anyone know if it is still on priceline/hotwire? Any help would be appreciated, or any advice on another 4* hotel in the area that we could grab for a reasonable price (<$120/night) Thanks
bbrown9506 Posted June 21, 2007 Report Posted June 21, 2007 Should have no problem getting something in that range! I usually win a 4 star SD beach resort for $90 to $110 a night. havent seen that hotel as a winner in a long time but there are some other properties in same area that are nice as well! You have a ton of free rebid zones in SD, (those are areas you can add that dont have 4 star hotels) so bid $90 for San Diego Coastal, and if rejected work your way up in $5 increments till you win by adding zones with no 4 star hotels! GL
dancas82 Posted June 22, 2007 Author Report Posted June 22, 2007 Thanks alot for the reply, I will have to check out what hotels are in San Diego Coastal and check with the fiancee and then I will probably give it a try. Thanks for the help, and if anyone else has suggestions I am always listening! Thanks again
Colfax Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 You can't bid for one particular hotel on Priceline. If you use Priceline you need to be willing to accept any 4* hotel that might come up in the Coastal zone. You can see which 4* hotels have been reported in the Hotel List. With HOTWIRE you can sometimes identify a hotel in advance by its amenity icons.
