you all seem so helpful i decided to ask-up before proceeding...

i am travelling to vegas for 3 nites of fun April 12-15, have a booking at the gold coast so far for 40/nite, but in seeing the deals you all are able to get i thought i mite give it a try to get on the strip!

dates: april 12-15, 2004

what should i expect to try for a reasonable bid?

should i wait until the week before to try? or should i try now.

is the only way to guarnatee (sp?) the strip to go for 5*(venetian)-or possibly get the westin (def. not on strip)

thanks all

Welcome to BB, f/w68!

I don't believe there are any special events in Vegas during your stay. Having said that you should be able to get the Venetian on the cheap a week to 10 days before arrival for $79-$99. Also remember, there are no real guarantees with Priceline. But that is the fun and adventure in bidding on Priceline. I have saved between 40-60%/nite off the best internet rate for my family and friends each time I have made bids.

Good luck and keep us posted on how things turn out! :)

I got the Venitian for $99.00 a night from priceline for 04/11-04/14/04 so I think it is a safe bet you can get the first two nights of your stay there off priceline right now for $99.00 or less. The last night of your trip may be tough to get. If your dates are set, try & get all your nights now. Nothing to lose. If you don't get it, you can always try & get the first two nights & try for your last night later keeping you back up hotel in case it never becomes available.

Looks like 4/14 is your problem night with a higher rate then the other nights.you might be able to get the V right now for $99 on the frist two nights but I think it will take $109,its $122 today on hotwire.

Yep if you bid *4 you could end up at the westin or the rio. (I think the rio is in the strip area now).I have stayed at both and the westin is only a two block walk to the strip and the rio has a free shuttle to Harrahs on the strip.Westin is nice but it dont have that big casino felling.

what price range would you bid for the 4* strip hotels...the person i am travelling with is hesitant on spending 99/nite, even tho it is a good deal for venetian...(wants to spend money on the tables...no doubt since little time to actually be spent in the room...) anyone know all the current 4* strip..i will check the posted list...

thanks again..
