Will Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 Bid from $60 in $1 increments. Got a counteroffer to raise $17 when I bid $64 than $65 than interestingly enough when I bid $70 and $71, I got a counteroffer to raise my bid by $22 dollars. I'd be interested to know if there different hotels, or if priceline is simply trying to milk the most $$ out of people.
dc3 Posted June 10, 2007 Report Posted June 10, 2007 I did a similar bid and got the increase offer at $65 to add $17. I continued to $80 and got the same hotel so it's not worth a separate thread - similar dates. It's a great hotel for location and features, near the Hyatt and Four Seasons. They are building a big condo next door and there's a big hole - so check your room before accepting it. I think Priceline would like you to overbid but still pay a lot less than the rack rate - so they make money and you are happy as well. But this is all in their computer and you know how to beat them at this - so you win.
