Flip Posted May 31, 2007 Report Posted May 31, 2007 Hey...thanks for the info guys!Due to the dreary forcast for Cedar Point next week, I have switched to plan B and will be spending an extra two nights in Chicago this trip. WISH! I could have got this room for two more nights but no such luck. We've got season passes to six flags so we'll be hitting the park north of Chicago sometime during the week. I really don't care what part of town we stay in 6/3-6/5 but Hotwire doesn't have many options for 3-4* under $150 at this point.I saw this one: 3-star hotel in O'Hare Intl Airport ORD South - Fitness, Business, Internet, Restraunt, Laundry for $89. Any ideas or better suggestions?
Flip Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Posted May 31, 2007 Upon further review, it looks like it might be the Comfort Suites. Trip advisor comments look promising. Need to decide very soon.
Flip Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Posted May 31, 2007 Oh god.... I refreshed the page and the rate went up to $96 so I went ahead and booked it.....DAMN! I got the Holiday Inn Chicago - Elmhurst .....not what I wanted at all. This hotel is a 2 star on other sites. :)
Flip Posted May 31, 2007 Author Report Posted May 31, 2007 plus...I called to confirm and the indoor water park is not include in the hotwire deal. I got king with sofa bed and needed two queens. Tried to change but Holiday Inn will only upgrade upon arrival. Bummer.
thereuare Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Sorry this didn't go as well as you had hoped. Thanks for sharing your results with the board and for helping us add this property to the Hotwire Hotel List. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted June 1, 2007 Report Posted June 1, 2007 Tried to change but Holiday Inn will only upgrade upon arrival. Bummer.you might want to call the hotel late morning on the day of your stay and ask with a big :) in your voice for your room preference, it sometimes helps if you are a member of the Hotel's guest loyalty program, in the case of Holiday Inn its the Priority Club....PS, Six Flags has a park "Great Adventure" that's halfway between New York City and Philadelphia.
AaronJB Posted June 3, 2007 Report Posted June 3, 2007 A good thing is that the Elmhurst Metra station is 1 mile directly South of the hotel. You could drive to the Metra (or take the hotel shuttle, if offered), park and ride the Metra in, which is easier than driving around downtown.
