Dman Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 There is a 3* in Palm Desert / La Quinta that is coming up in the middle of this week for $53, which I'd like to identify before choosing it. The amenities for this property are: Fitness Center, Pool(s), High Speed Internet, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby.I'm wondering if this is the Indian Wells Resort (a poorly reviewed place with a high resort fee) or might it be either the Holiday Inn Express or Embassy Suites, or something else entirely?
blindman Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 Whilst not an exact match to the Indian Wells Resort from the Hotwire Hotel List,The Holiday Inn express is a less likely match IMHO.

Dman Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 They were flexible for mid week this week (as I live in northern San Diego and can go to Palm Springs/Palm Desert on very short notice with ease). FYI, because I did not want to get the Indian Wells Resort with it's $17 resort fee, I ended up booking the Wyndham in Palm Springs - a known commodity which I was able to get for $45 bid on Priceline 5/29-5/30 instead. I actually lowballed the bid at $42/night for a Palm Springs 3* for 5/29-5/31, got a + $12 counter offer, which I declined, then bid $43 for 5/30, which got rejected, and bid $45 for 5/29 which got accepted

I think that I've established that the Wyndham is the best bargain currently in the Palm Springs area, as I've now gotten the place 3 times in the past 3 weeks. First I got it for $53 on Hotwire, then for $46 on Priceline, and now $45 on Priceline. Next time, we'll see if $44 can win the place in midweek in June.
