taxidi Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 HiI'm new to this forum. Hope I'm not making any mistakes. I'm looking for a hotel in Las Vegas from 9th-11th July. On the strip, with pool, anything 3* or above, the cheaper the better, and up to 70 dollars a night.Hotwire's showing me a 3* hotel on North strip for 39 USD/night with casino, pool, restaurant and golf, no trip advisor rating. Doesn't seem to match the hotels in the list. Anyone got any ideas what it could be? Thanks all in advance for your help.
dahammer Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 Welcome to Better Bidding!this could be Circus Circus or the Riviera. Close to your budget for $66 is a 3.5* with the following amenities: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Golf, Spa. This should be Harrahs. Please use this HOTWIRE link if you proceed. Thanks! :)
taxidi Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Thanks for your reply. I've found Harrah's for $117 total incl. taxes for those two nights on their website and was thinking of booking this as a back-up and waiting to see if something better comes up on Hotwire. I'm probably dreaming but we'd love to stay at Paris, NYNY or somewhere else flashy for the full Las Vegas experience (we live in Europe and won't get many chances to come back I think). Is that totally unrealistic for our budget? Do deals like that ever come along for July?
dahammer Posted May 26, 2007 Report Posted May 26, 2007 for your dates of travel, there is a 5* for $149 on HOTWIRE which should be the Venetian. Some folks have recently won this for $119. The problem with bidding at the 4* level is that you could wind up with the Westin. Circus Circus does not get good reviews and you're experience will be more trashy than flashy :)The dates of this Priceline Las Vegas thread are different from yours, but its worth reading, Good luck!
taxidi Posted May 26, 2007 Author Report Posted May 26, 2007 Hi againI agree, Circus Circus doesn't really sound like our thing, and spending more to end up at the Westin's no good either. The deal I've found for Harrah's seems pretty good as it's $117 for two nights, so $58/night incl taxes. Which is better for our $70/night budget. So, I guess we'll book that as a back-up and see what else comes along. Thanks for your help.
thereuare Posted May 27, 2007 Report Posted May 27, 2007 You can book Harrahs for $74/nite.If you booked for $112/nite directly thru Harrahs website, you can use this rate above to make a claim against their "best rate guarantee" and get 25% off this $74/nite rate. taxidi Posted May 28, 2007 Author Report Posted May 28, 2007 Thanks for the suggestions.Sorry, I think I was unclear in my first post. The Harrah's rate was $117 for TWO nights, so $58/night incl. taxes. But I've now found an offer of $70/night for MGM for player's club members, so was thinking of booking that instead. I'm new to this whole thing and all these fluctuating prices and combinations and permutations of special offers are starting to mess with my head!Still, the MGM offers seems quite good (I've joined players club). And I'll keep checking hotwire to see if anything else comes up. Would you recommend the MGM?
thereuare Posted May 28, 2007 Report Posted May 28, 2007 It's by far my favorite hotel on the strip, but it's a better hotel (and deal) than Harrahs and i would book that as a current back-up.We are also an affiliate of the MGM Grand so please use this link to access the MGM page to begin your reservation (from there you can then locate the players club promotion) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
