Colfax Posted May 23, 2007 Report Posted May 23, 2007 I stayed at the 3* Holiday Inn Sunday and Monday for $35. I wanted to extend for Tuesday but couldn't use Add a Night because I'd already used it when I added Monday to my Sunday win. (You can only use Add a Night once on a single reservation.)I bid $35 for a 3* for Tuesday, thinking I'd probably get the Holiday Inn again since their Tuesday price was $139, same price as Sunday and Monday. Bid rejected.Bid $36 for 2* then, accepted with an upgrade to the 3* Red Lion Convention Center. Best price $89.95.This was a successful Priceline trip for me because I got to try three hotels where I'd never stayed before---all the 1960's and 70's era warhorses near the Convention Center. And I had highspeed internet problems at all three. The Red Lion uses a password system and I got booted off every ten minutes or so and asked to sign in with password over and over. I switched to dialup and had no problems.Red Lion charges $10 for overnight parking but it's free until 10pm. They tried to collect $10 from me when I checked in but I said I might not need parking overnight, and put it off. I was out all evening and got back after midnight. The night clerk said I didn't need to pay then since it was so late. I started my bids at SavingsBarn.
