vchell
I bid upto $71, but rejected(3* in Cape May, NJ), also tried $91 for 4* & rejected. Then I came across your website, and would love to hear anyone's story with bidding for the above area. I am looking for the memorial day weekend. (fri-sun May 25-27) I am also interested in the Seaview resort in Absecon, NJ. Would anyone have had sucess in bidding for it,and could you kindly recommend your bidding price for that.Thank you much and have a good day!VchellJohn 3:16-18 Link to comment
dahammer
this weekend is the start of summer season at the Jersey Shore so hotels should have high occupancy and may not offer it to Priceline. Rates at the Seaview Resort in Absecon are $309 per night, what is your maximum budget? Link to comment
vchell
dahammerThanks for your input.I am willing to go upto $150 for the Seaview resort, and upto $125 for Cape May.I was just wondering if priceline bidding rate would be a little lower for 2/3 nights, compared to just 1 night? Thanks againVchellJohn 3:16-18 Link to comment
dahammer
Because of the holiday weekend, I doubt that you will have success bidding for a room in Cape May; a quick search using Cheap Tickets indicated no rooms available in this area. If you want to stay in Cape May this weekend, you should probably book a room conventionally. You might want to contact the Chamber of Commerce or the Hotel Motel association of Cape May County for a recommendation. There are quite a few independently owned motels in Cape May that don't have an online presence, so you may have to start dialing. You can't bid for a specific property with priceline, also the Marriott Seaview Resort has not been reported as a win through priceline either. I doubt that $150 will get you a 3* in this area. You may have better luck in the Absecon, Pleasantville, West Atlantic City area as there are a lot of chain hotels that cater to the casinos in Atlantic City. Most of these properties are 2* and the qualtiy can be hit or miss. A few years ago, friends stayed at the Impala Island Inn in Ocean City, they have a great deal starting at around $400 for 3 nights. Its one block from the beach and boardwalk. Link to comment
vchell
Greetings all!I need to revise the plans little bit. After getting your input, I would like to bid through savingsbarn.com.The update on my side, the plan has to fit into only one night, and that will be saturday May 26th night. I realize it is the first week of summer, and it is very hard on summer nights. I am content to get a decent hotel that is not necessarily close to Capy May or AC, but also not too far away.Should I shoot for Vineland area? Is there any 2.5-3* hotels in that area?ThanksGod bless & have a nice day!VchellJohn 3:16-18 Link to comment
dahammer
Should I shoot for Vineland area? Is there any 2.5-3* hotels in that area? This area is at least 45 minutes from Cape May without weekend traffic, HOTWIRE has no availability in Vineland, but in the Absecon zone, there is a 2* for $183 :) Link to comment
