jas120cornell Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 Bid on Priceline $100 for 4 nights in Copenhagen ... 9/14 - 9/18. Bid was rejected. Priceline offered $179 per night (pre-taxes). I plan to increase bids in increments. Anyone have success in Copenhagen recently
WillTravel Posted May 8, 2007 Report Posted May 8, 2007 I've been trying for August 16-20, and have not had any success for months. However, based on the backup I have booked, I'm not willing to go above a bid price of $70-75 for a 2* hotel, because with taxes and fees that will end up over $100 USD per night, and I have a cancellable booking for a conveniently located 3* hotel with breakfast included that averages out to $140 USD per night. Taxes are very high in Denmark.
scottdott Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 I've been trying for a 4* in Copenhagen for July 5th-9th, and I've gone as high at 165 (+ taxes....desperation!) with no success and no counter offers...
thereuare Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 scottdott,Please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay. Rates are date specific, so there may be very little correlation between your situation and that of the OP.Thanks. scottdott Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 thereuare,The OP asked if there were any recent 4* wins in Copenhagen, and I merely wished to contribute to the conversation... I'm not sure how my contribution differed from that of the previous poster. :) Regardless, my unsuccessful bids for 2*, 3*, and 4* rooms have all reached the same amount as comparable (and cancellable) rooms I've found on several other websites. I'm planning to make a cancellable reservation and hold off on bidding for a while....Thanks.
thereuare Posted May 9, 2007 Report Posted May 9, 2007 That's fine... being a new user i just didn't want this thread to divert to a divert to a discussion for your own dates as would have prefered to have that be in a new thread (but if you're not going to continue to bidding at this point the post above is fine). WillTravel has been around since our beginnings and i knew would start a new topic if wanting to receive help for their own stay. Sorry for any confusion. jas120cornell Posted May 21, 2007 Author Report Posted May 21, 2007 Steadily increased bids up to $160. Kept receiving counter offer of $177. Once I hit $160 and received rejection I accepted the $177 (pre-taxes). Got Copenhagen Marriott ... which still seems like a good deal given that prices were higher on Marriott website and the dates I am traveling were not available directly through Marriott.
