Question for regular users:

This is my first time using hotwire. Have used priceline several times and been very happy.

After finding out the hotel, looked up the price of this hotel, and there is $0 savings by using hotwire.

Also, was expecting higher quality for 2.5 star. Received scathing reviews on trip advisor.

I will keep an open mind, but feel jipped that I didn't save a cent using hotwire. Is this normal?

Guess I will stick with priceline in the future.

Usually HOTWIRE provides a pretty good discount, as they offer a "Double the Difference" guarantee if you can find a rate lower than you've purchases thru the HOTWIRE site (not including taxes and fees)... this helps keep them "honest" in not charging more than you can get elsewhere.

The above is why it's important to do research beforehand, and if you're unsure of a hotel than ask the board for help... we can often help in IDing them as well as get a sense when something may not turn out as you expect.
