timn85 Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 for 5/5/07 - 5/6/07I've started bidding since last week and no luck at all.I am trying to win the MGM Grand (4*...but after reading through here, I don't mind the Westin at all...)5/5/07 is Cinco De Mayo so hotel rates thus far from Hotwire and other travel sites are ridiculously high.I've started bidding at $115, re-bidded at $130 (added zones w/o 4*) and still no luck. Please help! Budget is $115-$130...is this feasible?thanks!
mtnfox Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 De La Hoya / Mayweather fight is that weekend also (AND it's at the MGM) - just another reason rates are higher. I doubt you can be successful for MGM for anything very affordable. With that huge of an event going on, they'll probably sell out at rack rates. Not sure about the Westin.
dahammer Posted April 9, 2007 Report Posted April 9, 2007 please post a follow up to your Crystal City topic
timn85 Posted April 10, 2007 Author Report Posted April 10, 2007 hi dahammer,I ended up not using priceline, since I was traveling with a group of people (my class), we all had to stay together at a hotel they had already selected :) i paid a lot more than i should have!!
thereuare Posted April 10, 2007 Report Posted April 10, 2007 I ended up not using priceline...Then you should at that information to your other thread so that future readers know that you never attempted anything rather than unsuccessfully tried but failed. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

timn85 Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 I just noticed that the Westin is going for $205 on priceline...is it safe to say that if I bet $100-110 on a *4, I should be able to get the westin??
