blkjck1 Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 A long process to get this. I spent almost an hour to get this room. Tried for a 4* all throughout the city going upwards to $205 dollars without any success. Dropped down to 3* starting at $130 using every zone except MTW (with the fear that the hotel received would likely be the Paramount). We were not willing to split the bid as the trip goers were already in the Rooselvet for 3 nights and then 3 nights at the Jersey City Hyatt. Once every zone was used and rebid zone stategy exhausted at $165 except MTW, we aded $1 to the bid along with the MTW zone. Paramount Hotel New York Midtown West235 West 46th Street New York, New York 10036 Check-In Date: Sun, Apr 15, 2007 Check-Out Date: Thu, Apr 19, 2007 Your Offer Price: $166.00 Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 4 Subtotal: $664.00 Taxes & Service Fees:$121.76 Total Charges*: $785.76 Having stayed in the Paramount before, I can't say that this victory is a complete success, but seeing as how the inventory in the city was tight as evidenced by our attempts in every other zone, we'll take it given the location of the hotel. I always check what we would have normally paid at the hotel we win, and the result at the Paramount's own website was $1306 including taxes, a savings of $520 over 4 nights. All legs of the trip booked through the Savings Barn. Proud to be Canadian!
thereuare Posted March 25, 2007 Report Posted March 25, 2007 Although you may not be thrilled with this 'win', it certainly represents some good value (as the savings you note imply) in an otherwise difficult period in the city.Yes, the rooms are notoriously small, but the location is very good.If you need any tips for the City (NYC or Jersey City) feel free to ask. Thanks for using the priceline hotel links at SaivngsBarn.com for your bidding.Enjoy your stay(s).
