rapazfreiburg Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 VAT in *the* UK is 17.5% ($13.13 in this case). The rest ($7.81) goes to Priceline, which is why short stays are always more expensive than long stays (taxwise).BTW: Tax in NYC for a one-day $75 stay is $20.10...
Newbie2006 Posted March 8, 2007 Author Report Posted March 8, 2007 Thanks for the feedback! I always curious how the tax and priceline works in terms of service charge n stuff :) This is definitely new to me. I might need another night of stay in London when I return from paris on 3/26-3/27 (one night). I want to stay at a hilton property again which zone is good? (I have HHonor Gold so I HOPE i can get some perks), is Hilton Metropole any good? better than Hilton Islington?
