I was extremely surprised that I got this car for only $8, especially from Hertz! At first I tried to get an SUV for $14, and was offered to try the bid again, but I only raised it to $15 since it wasn't that important for me to get the SUV, I was just expecting to go into the mountains and an SUV would be nice if I could get it. Alamo had a discount where I could get it for ~$283, but I wanted to try Priceline for a larger discount [$236.96 total]. The cheapest rate was $11.66/day or $174.20 [Dollar economy], so I looked to see how low I could go for a compact. Finally I found that $6 was too low for Priceline's partners, so I thought I would try for $8 [$148.44 total].
