dahammer Posted February 8, 2007 Report Posted February 8, 2007 I screwed up and entered tommorrow's date when submitting a Priceline bid (I bid $51 and won the 3* Doubletree in Newark). Went to the hotel to check in and was told that my reservation was for tomorrow, 2/8/07. Called Priceline customer service and was told that they would issue a credit less a $25 fee, as long as my new bid was accepted and the dates were different. As it turns out, plans changed and I really wanted to be a bit further north in the Saddle Brook area, so I started a new bid from the Doubletree's business center. Started at $52 at the 3* level in Paramus-Hackensack and was rejected, added Ridgefield as a rebid zone and even dropped to 2.5* and was rejected up to $58. Opened a new browser and selected Saddle Brook, bid $55 at the 3* level. Added Paramus-Hackensack and bid $62. Opened a new browser and bid $65 in Saddle Brook and Ridgefield, Success!Your Offer Price: $65.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $17.43 Total Charges: $82.43 I was hoping to get the Crowne Plaza, but the Radisson is just "ok". The rate online is $109, so while its not a great deal, I received a cheap lesson to double check my bids before I submit. Now, if I can slide out of the Doubletree parking lot without having to pay....PS. Submitted my bids through Savingsbarn.com
