TJewel
I have a friend who is going on the cruise with us. When she heard about my success with Hotwire in obtaining Sheraton Yankee Clipper she decided she wanted to try Hotwire for a 4* FLL DT hotel for a one day post cruise. Since I had yet to see one show up I encouraged her to use Priceline. Having no experience she asked me to do the bidding. Her maximum was $100, I talked her down to $75 at this early stage because we had plenty of time to work on this. Bidding started as follows: 4* Fort Lauderdale DT- $65 Rejected Added Fort Lauderdale airport bid $68 Rejected Added Miramar bid $70 Rejected Added Pompano bid $71 Rejected Added Coral Springs bid $74 Accepted :) Renaissance Fort Lauderdale 1617 SE 17th StreetFort Lauderdale, FL 33316Check In: November 3rd,2004Check Out: November 4th,2004 Offer Price: $74.00 Taxes and Service Fees: $15.43Total Charges: $89.43My friend was so pleased she decided she wanted another nite. Instead of using Priceline's add a night feature I decided to try a new bid to see if I could save her a few dollars. Started at $70 for 4* FLL DT and going up in 1 dollar increments using FLL airport and Miramar as my free rebids, accepted at $72 for the same hotel.Check In: Novermber 4th,2004Check Out: November 5th,2004Offer Price: $72.00Taxes and Service Fees: $15.15Total Charges: $87.15The lowest rate for this hotel on Marriott.com was $229.00/day. I used SavingsBarn.com to make the bid, but my ISP wasn't having a good day so I am not sure it worked. I can't find many reviews for this hotel so I hope my friend is pleased with her stay. thereuare
Thanks for the support. Even if your ISP didn't cooperate, we appreciate the effort! :) I think you did a great job bidding this for your friend. It's great when you're able to introduce somebody to the savings that Priceline/Hotwire offer and they're happy with the results. Thanks again for the support and for sharing your results with the rest of us! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
