I am looking for a 4* on the strip and would be happy with any of those listed but am also okay with the risk of other options.

4* Aladdin

4* Luxor

4* MGM Grand

4* Monte Carlo

4* NYNY

4* Treasure Island

4* The Westin REVIEW / tripadvisor review

Below is my bidding strategy - could you suggest a pricing strategy? I would hope not to exceed $140/night. The best I could so far was at the excalibur for $130/night. I have some friends staying at the luxor for $190/night. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The Aladdin is a good rate, though when I click through it to actually book it gives me a rate of $119/night not $109 as listed the page before it.

If I were still interested in going the savingsbarn/priceline route could you give me any estimates on where I should start the bidding and in what increments? Other winning bids in the past year for the 4* level are in the $50-$63 range.

Thanks for the other link for the Aladdin.

The $119 rate includes taxes.

Rates this low won't likely be available for your stay above... if u do want to bid, how high would you bid? If the Aladdin is a viable option for you, then you wouldn't want to bid higher than $100 or so since then it would start to cost more than the Aladdin (after you include the priceline fee).

Gotcha. The way the price breakdown is listed it is easy to assume that the taxes are still extra since they are listed below.

I thought since it was a midweek stay (Tues-Friday) that the lower rates and therefore lower winning bids might be available. Is that not true because of spring break and march madness?

I suppose my new priceline cap would be $85/night.

This is a general rule and can quickly not be the case if there is a special event or large conference(s) in town during your stay. I didn't know offhand that March Madness games were taking place during your timeframe, but that certainly explains the high prices. You can just tell by the prices of the Luxor and the Excalibur that 'something' is going on because those prices are more indicative of weekend rates than midweek rates. March Madness is BIG in Vegas.

If you want to try bidding for this you have four re-bid zones (NOTE!!! Summerlin is not a re-bid zone... you have it wrong above). If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Strip...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85.

If the above fails i would book the Aladdin as soon as possible... they only have a limited number of rooms at that price, it's cancellable so you can always take advantage of a better deal if one comes along, and you protect yourself if rates should go up. If for some reason you opt for to stay with your friends at the Luxor or Excalibur please use our links above or those in our support page

PS- i just checked and March Madness doesn't begin until 3/18, so that is not the reason for higher than usual prices... i did find a Roofing convention of nearly 40K people in addition to a smaller 10K convention and that is likely the reason for the higher than usual prices

Right. I noticed that march madness starts March 15th - April 2nd. Sorry for the error. Though I am sure roofers know how to have a good time.

Summerlin - NW Las Vegas shows only 3*, 2.5*, 2*, 1* and Resorts available. In this situation, could I be upgraded to a Resort? I didnt know that Resorts were considered higher than 4*'s. Please confirm.

Thanks for all of the assistance.

I will use the links listed and also SavingsBarn.com for my bids.
