Hi,

I would like to make a trip to new york in february this year, prefered dates are 16-22. Feb. ( 6 nights)

But we ware flexible !

( All dates between 15. Feb and 15. March are possible for us).

We found a cheap flight and now are looking for a hotel.

Since i was in new york two times bevor i hoped to get the Red Roof Inn for our dates but this one seems to have now more abvailable rooms.

Our budget for 3 Persons including Tax is about 1100 Dollar for 6 nights.

Las year i stayed ( nearly exact the same dates) 6 nights at the red roof in manhattan and paid 1000 Dollar ( two double beeds ).

I hoped to find a similar offer this year but this seems so look not good....

Hyatt Regency Jersey City would also be perfekt for us, but the price is still very high at hotwire.

(And theres still the problem with 3 people !, pricline guarantees just a room for up to two people !)

I hope you can help me in this point, i really dont know what to do at this point.

Flo

(Hope you could understand me english... :) )

How about a 1BR suite at the Beekman Tower for $153/nite ($1091 'all-in'). This hotel is a little east, but you're young :), so can probably easily walk the 10-15 minutes to the subway (if not, there is a bus stop a block away from the hotel).

You'll need to only search for 2 adults using the above link, but there is one bed in the bedroom and a pull-out couch in the living room... so it should comfortably fit all three of you. This hotel is also a big jump in quality rating vs. the Red Roof Inn.

Does the above work for you? If not, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option?

Hi,

Beekman would be possible if i search for 2 adults.

(i hope they would let us in if we are 3 people !)

I have been two times bevore at Red Roof Inn and the accomodation was "ok", clean, no problems.

Plus point at red roof inn is the excelent location of the hotel.

Splitting the 6 nights is als an option, but if i get somethin for the first 3 nights ( for example), it can happend that i dont get anything for the second 3 nights or ?

Thats a risc isnt it ?

Thank you very much for your help !

best reguards,

We've had others stay at the Beekman with triple occupancy without any incidents (although no very recent reports). We usually dont' recommend booking double occupancy in NYC when you'll actually be more than that, but at the Beekman i (personally) would feel comfortable doing so given the room size and known bedding configuration. It's also not too difficult to get around if you're nervous about it... have two people hang out at a Starbucks (or similar) around the block while one person goes to check-in... drop bags off in the room and then go get the other two people and walk up t your room (nobody should say anything, but if they do, one is just a friend hanging out with you).

If you are willing to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, what appears to be the Hyatt Jersey City is available on HOTWIRE for 2/16-2/19 (then you can book the remainder at the Beekman or the Red Roof Inn).

If you do book the above please use our HOTWIRE link to begin any purchase you make.

Let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.

Hi Flo,

How did you like the red roof? I have it as a back up for my trip in may. What i hate about them is it cost 20 more if there are two people.. and another 20 more if there are 3 people.

Honestly, how strict are the hotels with the # of guests in a room? I mean how in the world are they going to monitor if you have 1-2 more people with you? Unless they put the number on your room card and the security guy checks it or something. It doesn;t make sense..

Reviews are decent..

goodluck!

Hi,

Red Roof Inn offers Breakfast ( included)

I think thats one reason for the higher price.

( but you can get much Breakfast for 20 Dollar.... :) )

At time i am looking what hotwire is offering for our time and found a 2-Star Hotel in Time Square District, but theres no 2-star Hotel in this zone on the HOTWIRE Hotel list... ?

Hi,

We decided to choose the beekman tower a our accomodation for our 6 night stay in new york.

Since you helped me with this i would like to book using one of your partner links.

Klicking the link you posted above it shows "Off the record" hotel.

(But it seems to be the beekman tower when i read the discription).

Is it guaranteed to get the beekman tower booking there ?

We are going to get there with tree people, i hope this will work.

Are there more important things i have to know ? any further tips ?

I would prefer booking this Hotel on a site which does NOT charge my credit card with the full amount imediately ! Is there a way ?

Thank you very much for your help,

Unless something is very wrong, this is the Beekman Tower... if for some reason it's not (but it is :) ), you could always immediately cancel since reservations thru EasyClickTravel at this property are refundable (up until a few days before your stay).

I don't know any way to book this without having your credit card charged right away... usually the only places that will only charge one nite of your stay is the hotel website, and this property is $200+ for a 1BR suite directly from the hotel's website.

Hi,

We gonne book this today, las question:

There is written: "

**Please be advised that there is only 1 bed in the bedroom and a pull out sofa bed which is in the living room.**"

what does that meen ?

Do you still think we gonne fit in there with 3 Persons ?

(and everybody gets a place to sleep.... )

sorry but i am still a bit nervous in this point..

The next subway station is Grand Central Station ?

Thanks a lot !

I wouldn't because if you state three people the price goes up by $30/nite (previously this hotel wouldn't show if you searched for triple occupancy, but i guess they have adjusted that). You could put in a request that the room has a queen bed.

If you look at the description of the Beekman Tower it states "Note: There is one bed in the bedroom and a pullout sofa in the living room"... if this works for your plans i'd think you'll be fine. You can print out that page and take it with you, and if for some reason the living room doesn't have a pullout sofa (i've never heard of their rooms not having a pullout) you can ask for a room with such a configuration stating that you and your friend (the one you're staying with) booked this because you didn't want to sleep in the same bed.

You could use the 'technique' above of only having one person check-in or, if you do go to the desk with all three of you, just say one is a friend who is also vacationing in the city and met you at the train station... but if you're really worried about it you can pay the extra $30/nite as maybe the $10 per person will give you peace of mind.

Hi,

We will... we booked the Beekman 2 days ago.

I hope everything will work as we expect and we dont get any problems ( 3 persons ... so above).

If you see 3 German Students, aged 21, ... thats us :)

There is a bus and a train that goes there from NYC. The train station is "a bit" from the actaul mall, but there is a trolly that makes the trip. (see LINK)

I don't know the cost of the above, but as there are three of you, if one of you doesn't mind driving you can probably rent a car inexpensively. (don't rent in the city as it is expensive... make your way to Hoboken or Jersey City and rent from there as it's considerably cheaper) Hoboken has a hertz and an Enterprise, while Jersey City (Newport location) has also has an Enterprise (this last location will likely be the least expensive). If you need directions let me know, but it's a fairly straight trip.
