Started bidding at $92, bidding in $5 increments. They kept offering me $157 everytime I would start a new bid. When I got up to $135 I changed to $2 increments. The non-refundable advance purchase rate was $167, so not a huge savings, but I am happy. We love this hotel!

Started my bid through the PRICELINE link at SavingsBarn. Thanks!

That's good to know that you got the hotel! I tried again with the same amounts you did, up to 145$, but no luck so far. I thought I might get it for the same price. But I will keep trying!

Why? The rate on Marriott's website is $269

WHY NOT? I know how much the rate on their website is. But if someone get its for less my chances are high that I get it for less as well, otherwise what's the use of priceline??

Buona Fortuna if you get your $145 bid accepted! :) But the standard rate for your dates is $269 through Marriott vs. $167 for the OP's dates, why would you expect the same result. :)

I still don't understand what you mean. If Long Tall Sally got it for 141$ for April why do you think I have no chance to get it for the same price for April as well? Could you explain? Do I understand somethiogn wrong?

I didn't say that you have no chance, just that your dates are different from Long Tall Sally which can affect the success of your bid. Maybe the hotel is more full for your dates of travel, so the Marriott may not want to offer room inventory to Priceline.

Good Luck!

PS, maybe we should continue this on your original post....
