Long Tall Sally Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Started bidding at $92, bidding in $5 increments. They kept offering me $157 everytime I would start a new bid. When I got up to $135 I changed to $2 increments. The non-refundable advance purchase rate was $167, so not a huge savings, but I am happy. We love this hotel!Started my bid through the PRICELINE link at SavingsBarn. Thanks!

Claudia Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 That's good to know that you got the hotel! I tried again with the same amounts you did, up to 145$, but no luck so far. I thought I might get it for the same price. But I will keep trying!
dahammer Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I thought I might get it for the same priceWhy? The rate on Marriott's website is $269
Claudia Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Why? The rate on Marriott's website is $269WHY NOT? I know how much the rate on their website is. But if someone get its for less my chances are high that I get it for less as well, otherwise what's the use of priceline??
dahammer Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 Buona Fortuna if you get your $145 bid accepted! :) But the standard rate for your dates is $269 through Marriott vs. $167 for the OP's dates, why would you expect the same result. :)
Claudia Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I still don't understand what you mean. If Long Tall Sally got it for 141$ for April why do you think I have no chance to get it for the same price for April as well? Could you explain? Do I understand somethiogn wrong?
dahammer Posted January 9, 2007 Report Posted January 9, 2007 I didn't say that you have no chance, just that your dates are different from Long Tall Sally which can affect the success of your bid. Maybe the hotel is more full for your dates of travel, so the Marriott may not want to offer room inventory to Priceline. Good Luck!PS, maybe we should continue this on your original post....
