First time bidding on a rental car on Priceline, and may have bid too much, but this was a bit of an experiment to see how far we could go.

Your Offer Price: $16.00

Total Rental Days: 3

Subtotal: $48.00

Taxes & Fees: $10.83

Total Charges: $58.83

I cancelled a reservation with National Car that offered a preferred business rate of a 10% discount and a $20 coupon for a 3 day weekend and automatic check-in with an all in cost of $99. Avis' rack rate with an all in cost was $133. I may regret doing this, as there is nothing that drives me more nuts than standing in line for a car rental at LAX at the booths, but we'll see if Pricelining it at LAX is worth it.

Booked as always through savingsbarn.com.

Thanks for using the SB links :)

Whle standing in line is certainly aggrevating at the time, try to think of it this way...

You saved ~$40 for this rental, with all things being equal, except for having to wait in line. If takes you 20 minutes of waitng in line, that's $120/hour your earning for standing in line. I'd hang out at the bank, post office, rental car line, etc, alll day long if i could earn $100+ per hour to stand inline for people!

Good Luck... let us know how it goes.
