pyrovampress Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 I've been unsuccessful in bidding on 4* hotels in MTW,MTE,UM/CPS for 2/28/07-3/2/07. I've bid from $95 up to $145.Any advice?
dahammer Posted January 2, 2007 Report Posted January 2, 2007 What is your maximum bid per night? What are the current rates for similar 4* accomodations? Is splitting your stay an option?
thereuare Posted January 3, 2007 Report Posted January 3, 2007 What is the best deal you've found directly from hotels? (ie- use our BetterChecker to easily search for rates). I looked at a few hotels for your dates and rates are currently quite high. What is your maximum bid? If you're not currently willing to bid higher, i'd book a cancellable back-up... i'd suggest booking the Eastgate Tower where you can get a Studio Suite for $150/nite (cancellable and no booking fee, so actually a bit cheaper than your $145 bid above) and gets very good reviews. pyrovampress Posted February 22, 2007 Author Report Posted February 22, 2007 I ended up changing the dates to 2/25/07-2/28/07, due to lower prices in the beginning of the week versus the latter.I saw that another poster had gotten a room in MTW for $115 for those dates, so I bid $105, then rebid for $110 and it was accepted. I got the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers. The boards were a lot of help with the planning of this trip and now I'm using them to research hotel prices for college visits for my cousin this summer. :) The wealth of info is awesome!
