Claudia Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 We also would like to try to get the Venetian for one night. Please let me know how to start! Thanks againClaudia
thereuare Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Could you accept a different 5* hotel in this zone? What is your maximum bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Claudia Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 Yes, any other 5* would be good as well. I would say max. bid is around 150$
thereuare Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 Rates at the Venetian for this date is nearly $450/nite! :) At that rate you don't really have a chance at this property for $150 or less. Claudia Posted December 30, 2006 Author Report Posted December 30, 2006 Is there a convention or anythign going on? It's not even a Saturday night! Are my chances better if I try for a 4* or would it be the same?
thereuare Posted December 30, 2006 Report Posted December 30, 2006 As of now looks to be something specific to the Venetian itself as rates elsewhere are not that high. You could book the Aladdin for $110/nite. Monte Carlo is available for $130/nite.This is cancellable up until a few nites before your stay so you can look further to see if the Venetian drops their rates between now and then (April is a long way off).Do either of those work for you? Claudia Posted December 31, 2006 Author Report Posted December 31, 2006 If I switch dates and would want teh Venetian on April 29 the lowest rate on their homepage is 350. If I go up to 200$ do you think I would have a chance? Also I found a rate of 209$ for the hotel at Mandalay Bay. Do you have any experience if the rates on the hotels own website are normally the best you can get? Thanks!
dahammer Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 please note that the Mandalay Bay may be booked on the Travel Links to Help Support BetterBidding :)
thereuare Posted December 31, 2006 Report Posted December 31, 2006 Typically, as the Venetian gets higher and higher in price, very little (if any) availability is given to the opaque suppliers; what is offered is usually not discounted much... so a successful $200 bid would not be a high probability bet.If you do switch dates, the Renaissance gets cheaper than the original date you've been bidding (so maybe previous strategy would be successful?)... and the Bellagio can then be booked for $199/nite (available for either or both nites, the 29th and/or 30th). Claudia Posted February 24, 2007 Author Report Posted February 24, 2007 Just got the Venetian for 156$ (including all charges 180.72$) for April 29 with the option to extend it for another night. Is that right that I can still decide at a later date if I want to extend?
