Claudia Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Hi again, just booked flights for our US trip next year. We will arrive in Las Vegas April 14 (Saturday night). Is it possible to get a (not too bad) hotel for under 100$? We don't really mind the location for that night. On our way back we will stay in Las Vegas again and I would love to try to get the Venetian for one night and the Marriott Resort for the other night. Those dates are not weekends, what amount would be best to start the bid? Is it too early anyway for April? Thanks again for your help!
thereuare Posted December 27, 2006 Report Posted December 27, 2006 Please use separate threads for each stay... this will enable us to keep the bidding strategies separate as well as eventually reflect the winning property for each stay in the topic title; so we'll use this thread for the first leg of your stay, 4/14/07.For this part of your stay, which zone(s) are you willing to bid? What is the minimum star rating you're willing to accept?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Claudia Posted December 28, 2006 Author Report Posted December 28, 2006 Hi Thereuare<for the first night we would prefer to stay in a smaller hotel without a casino, probaby one of the Marriott chain which according to your list seem mostly to be at the Convention Center area or Airport area. Anythign between 2* and 3* should be ok for that night.Let me know what I should try.ThanksClaudia
thereuare Posted December 28, 2006 Report Posted December 28, 2006 Do you prefer to try for a 3* up to your limit ($100 bid) and then try for a lower star rating up to your limit, and so on... or is the least expensive 2* in the Convention Center or Airport zone what you prefer?Keep in mind you can't target any of the Marriott branded properties, and there are other 2*-3* rated hotels in these zones... La Quinta (just one property of likely a few more) comes to mind as having a few 2* rated properties in the Vegas area. Claudia Posted December 29, 2006 Author Report Posted December 29, 2006 I would prefer to try 3* first and then go down to 2* if not successful.I don;t mind La Quinta, it's really just for the first night after our transatlantic flight where we will be tired anyway and that's the reason we don't want to end up somewhere with long queues for check in and walking for ages through a casino before you get to your room
thereuare Posted December 29, 2006 Report Posted December 29, 2006 You have two re-bid zones at the 3* level in Vegas. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3* Airport...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if reejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Convention Center...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if reejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Convention Center and Airport...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85.If the above is rejected try again in 24 hours:Select 3* Airport...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if reejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Convention Center...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if reejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* Convention Center and Airport...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100.Any questions feel free to ask.Good luck and let us know how it goes.
