BeckyBC03 Posted December 8, 2006 Report Posted December 8, 2006 I want to bid for a 4 star in the River North area for Friday December 22. Any ideas on where to start my bid? I bid back in August and got the Millenium Knickerbocker for $75 for Sunday night stay in August so I'm not really sure where to start for this bid. Any ideas??Thanks!
thereuare Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 What is your maximum bid?Is the NMA-River North area the only area you want and the Loop is not acceptable?Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy to proceed. BeckyBC03 Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 Hi, maximum bid would probably have to be $90 because I know that I can book some of the likely 4* hotels for around $100 through their website. River North is the only acceptable zone. I was just not really even sure where to start on this one. After checking out sites like Travelocity, etc. it seems that rates are on the low side.
thereuare Posted December 9, 2006 Report Posted December 9, 2006 Only one re-bid zone available at the 4* level in Chicago. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* NMA-River North...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60.If the above is rejected i'd then try again every 24 hours, increasing each bid by $5. I suspect you'll be successful within a day or two.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. BeckyBC03 Posted December 9, 2006 Author Report Posted December 9, 2006 Thanks for the strategy! I actually had just tried $58 in River North, rejected and then tried $65 with the rebid zone and I was still rejected. I will try again tomorow. I'll let you know when I'm successful. Thanks again for confirming that I was pretty close with my starting bid!
BeckyBC03 Posted December 18, 2006 Author Report Posted December 18, 2006 I didn't have any luck for two days but then I found a great deal on Travelzoo for the Omni Suites on Michigan Ave for $129/night including $25 breakfast credit so I thought that was a pretty good deal and just went ahead with thatThanks for your help as always!
