dahammer Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 This was probably my highest bid ever for a hotel in the Newark zone, I started out at the 3* level at $55 and was rejected up to $75 while increasing bids $5 each time I added a rebid zone. I dropped down to 2.5* and started bidding at $65, adding rebid zones and increasing each bid by $5, finally winning at $90 while being upgraded to a 3*. Used savingsbarn.com to place my bids.Your Offer Price: $90.00Taxes & Service Fees:$21.86Total Charges $111.86Parking is $5 and High speed internet (wired) is $10. This hotel has a free shuttle to the Newark Airport and has a restaurant and bar along with an indoor pool inside the atrium so you can show off your six pack abs or the end result of too many six packs. The rack rate was $210 :) so I was pleased with the results. This hotel is next door to the Holiday Inn and just a short walk to the NJ State Prison. Dinner was at the Ibereia Tavern on Ferry Street, I had to go for the Rodizio and it was pretty good.
thereuare Posted November 16, 2006 Report Posted November 16, 2006 A new hotel for the Priceline Hotel List.I pass this hotel somewhat frequently and it always catches my eye... the exterior seems to be fading quite a bit, but it reminds me of classic 80's architecture. I'm not sure if i'm right, but that's the immediate thought that comes into my head.Guess this hotel has a priceline rate higher than others in the area, and the others didn't offer opaque availability, in that this has finally been reported to the board and at a higher rate than usual for this area.Hope you enjoyed your stay.
