Priceline Hotel: Need help with Philadelphia area hotel

Hi folks, I'm new here. I need a hotel in the UPenn area for Nov 10th - Nov 12th. I'd like to stay someplace decent and UPenn doesn't seem to have any 4*. So, is the next logical choice Downtown?

What is your maximum budget, your minimum star rating, will you have a car?

Actually, i'm just visiting a friend. I will not have a car. My minimum star rating is 4* and my maximum budget is $130 per night. Of course, I'd like to lower that if possible.

either the Harvard game or maybe a convention(?) is really having an effect on hotel availability for your dates of travel. For example, the highest rated hotel on Hotwire is a 3* property in the Center City East zone for $227 :) that has not been identified. Some folks have recently won the 4* Westin for $115 for different dates. I would definately book a cancellable backup immediately. Did you commence bidding yet? If so, what is your highest rejected bid and the zone(s) that you bid. Fortunately, the Market-Frankford line is within walking distance to the Penn campus (stops at 34th and Market sts) so if you were to get a hotel in the Priceline Downtown zone (the next logical zone to Penn), you could get public transportation out to West Philly. Finally, Hotwire has a 3* that is probably the Holiday Inn in the City Line zone. This is the least desireable as you will need to take a bus (that stops on City Line Avenue) into the city, and I'm not sure if there is a bus route to the Penn campus.
