mperry Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 hello...new to this forum. My wife and I are going to Vegas in Feb 07. I know it is a little early so we are looking to book and cancel if prices get better or we can bid for a better price. As far as money goes looking to spend $150 or less on 4* or $200 or less on 5*. Could consider splitting but may not matter because this is Tue-Fri.
dahammer Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Using EasyClickTravel, it appears that the Aladdin is available for $129 as an "Off The Record" listing. This is cancellable up to 72 hours before check in. The Venetian is also available but its about $300 per night. When bidding for a 4* on the strip, there is a chance that you could get the Westin which is not exactly on the strip.
mperry Posted November 4, 2006 Author Report Posted November 4, 2006 I was pretty sure that what I was looking at was the Aladdin. Thanks for the confirm. I have read that they have some construction going on. Should I be concerned? Thanks for your advice.
dahammer Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 I recently read that the Aladdin is just starting to convert sinage and some uniforms to Planet Hollywood and that the construction noise is minimal. You mayalso want to check out some of the message boards that are specific to Las Vegas regarding the construction noise. I have also read that the Monte Carlo is subjected to 24 hour construction noise at the adjacent former Boardwalk site.
007blur007 Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 I recently booked the Aladdin via the EasyClickTravel link. I did some fairly extensive research before doing so, and it appears that the construction is entering the final stages. As of late-October, the work is apparently focussed on the main entrance. The primary complaints appear to be related to the impact on check-in's, particularly the very long walk from self-parking to the temporary check-in desk. The casino itself still has walled-off portions, but the rooms are not currently impacted. Minor work is underway in the Desert Passages mall.I felt confident booking for our early December trip, but I'll be monitoring the various review forums and may cancel if things go off-course during November.Hope this helps a bit!
mperry Posted November 7, 2006 Author Report Posted November 7, 2006 Thanks I booked the hotel using the link above. At a minumum it gives me a good back-up. I noticed a good size convention in town that week so that got me worried.
