Priceline Hotel: 1*$131 2*171 rejected 10/31/06 till 11/04/06

I am willing to stay anywhere on Manhattan from the 10/31/06 to 11/04/06 and have had 1* bids rejected a $131 USD/night a night and 2* rejected at $171 USD/night.

This is not my normal priceline experience, although I haven't used priceline for about 14 months. I now have to use Priceline through the HK site as I moved back to Australia.

Any idea if I am close or completely off the mark? I am willing to go a bit higher otherwise I may just bypass NY. I even tried splitting and with the first two nights there were no takers at the same price. Should I just wait a few days?

Thanks

Nick

welcome to betterbidding. As you can imagine, rates are sky high, maybe the NY Marathon on November 5 is causing rates to go up. Can you please indicate your maximum bid per night, whether you would split your bid, would you consider staying in Jersey City (adjacent to Manhattan with easy rail access)? You might want to use the Hotel Checker in the tools above to see what the rates are for your dates of travel. I just checked Hotwire and the least expensive hotel was $300 and only rated 2.5*. You should really avoid bidding at the 1* and even 2* levels. Check out the PRICELINE FAQ page and there is a topic about bidding now or later.
