OSUBUCKEYES
Please let me know if anyone knows of any good rates at 3* or 4* hotels in Columbus for the nights of 11/17 and 11/18. The closer to OSU and high street the better. The decent hotels appear very crowded, probably because everyone else is in town for the same reason. To watch the Buckeyes easily defeat Michigan (again) and capture the Big Ten title on their way to the BCS championship game. Thanks playas Link to comment
thereuare
watch the Buckeyes easily defeat Michigan (again) OUCH!! :) The backdrop is certainly set for that to put the game of the season (for both of us). What about HOTWIRE? Is the worthington zone near the campus at all?I'd also look at EasyClickTravel (stick with 'available' rather than 'on request') or Quickbook? Their business models may allow for something available and affordable. AmericaWestCMH
It'll be the game of the year, that's for sure. O rbitz is baiting people with a $118 rate at the Hampton Inn in the Arena District, but as you go to 'continue booking' it changes to NO ROOMS AVAILABLE. The Hyatt (convention center) has a $239 rate. And aside from the Hyatt Capitol Square, the Renaissance, and the Doubletree with $309, $299, and $350 rates respectively, everything is listed as sold out. I would call the individual properties; in my experience with NASCAR races, hotels will be listed with no availability, but they do still have rooms available if you call. It can't hurt to throw out a Priceline bid every day, though you probably won't have success.http://downtowncolumbus.com/do/directories...y=15&menu=5As far as Worthington, it's no closer to the stadium than the airport hotels. dahammer
also, many hotels require a two night minimum in college towns for home game weekends Link to comment
OSUBUCKEYES
I will try calling some of the hotels..I know that many require a two night stay on gameday weekends which is fine. I appreciate everyones help and will try priceline using the link however I doubt that I will have success. I will let you know if I do succeed. Worthington isnt that close to campus but if it is the only alternative available we can just take a cab to and from the game and bars. (and post game celebrations) Link to comment
thereuare
(and post game celebrations)Don't you mean drowning your sorrows? :)Actually, this should be a tough one for both sides. AmericaWestCMH
Travelocity"]Travelocity does show availability for the Hampton Inn in the Arena District for $118. The location is perfect for getting around the downtown bars and the Short North. Link to comment
thereuare
If this is the same as the Hampton Inn Downtown there is a $108/nite rate on their website (please use the preceding link) and is cancellable up until day of arrival.
