:) I wanted the Bourbon Orleans hotel. This trip is for our 5 year anniversary so I wanted a romantic hotel. We just had a baby, and can't afford the price of a romantic hotel so I thought Hotwire would be a good option. I was upset to find the room was for the holiday inn. The only thing that looks good is the location of it. It just dosen't look like it has the atmosphere of most of the other New Orlean's hotels. At least we only paid $88.00. I attempted to bid on priceline before I went hotwire. I bid on a 4 star in french quarter for $90. per night, but was turned downed.

Oh well, better luck next time. :)

Oh, I forgot my travel dates, they are for 3/9/07-3/11/07 sorry.

Amenities: Pool/Restaurant/Hi-Speed.

Thank you for sharing your results with this the board.

Did you consult the Hotwire Hotel List before making your purchase, as this hotel is listed there and you could have made an educated guess as to its identity before your purchase. You should also feel free to ask for help if there are properties you can't identify that you are considering purchasing.

Enjoy your stay and anniversary.

I've stayed there a couplel of times. It's fine, but you are right, not especially romantic. But that said, if you can't have a romantic time while on vacation in the French Quarter, you're doing something wrong.

Have a great trip.

I am guessing that the hotel you recieved is the Holiday Inn Chateau LeMoyne and NOT the Holiday Inn on Royal? The reason I am stating this is because of the amenities you listed. I have not stayed at either property BUT from the outside the Chateau LeMoyne looks like the better of the two. I also think there is a pretty good chance that this hotel can be romantic. One example is they do have balconies (private ones I think?). You should consider contacting the hotel directly and let them know its your 5yr and see if you can upgrade to a suite or balcony room for a nominal fee ($20-$25 per night). I dont know if this would work but it is worth a try. New Orleans is a WONDERFUL place to spend a weekend not to mention a special time like your anniversary. I am positive you are going to have a truly splendid time.

It might be a small blessing you got the Chateau LeMoyne instead of the usual 4 star priceline property Marriott on canal. The marriott is a fine property but romantic it is not. It can be funny how things work out sometime.
