cntrfieldsmom Posted October 4, 2006 Report Posted October 4, 2006 Won for a $42 bid. Note that I have won this hotel nearly 2 months prior to travel dates also. Check in pleasant and easy. Asked for 2 rooms close together, gave him my Starwood card. He said he'd try for the larger rooms. No kings available (lots of conventions on the board) but we got double connecting rooms in the South tower on 14th floor. Good attitude about priceline. Plenty of free parking. The Sofitel is next door.Looked to be newely renovated with up to date decor , nice furniture, and sweet sleeper beds. Desk and great office chair. Internet for $10 per day. Another chair with ottoman. Large closet, coffee in room. Only negative was the bathroom was extremely small. Okay for noise (not the best I've stayed in, not the worst) Could hear walking above us and water flushing. Free local newspaper each morning. Nice pool and hot tub. The hot tub was huge! about 10' x 30' Pretty busy though. We went at 7:00 AM and had it to ourselves. Not too hot, like some are. Serve Starbucks in the coffee shop. Went to the comedy improv act and it was fun, and only $8. Only food we ordered was at the show, it was just pizza but was very good.I would definately stay here again. Regular room rate was $110 so $42 was a great deal. The old Prime Hotel (which is what I got before in this zone)is now the Park Place. I rate the Sheraton higher.
Grumpup Posted December 5, 2006 Report Posted December 5, 2006 Wife and I have bid for the same zone twice and got the Bloomington Sheraton both times. First in 2005 for $45 per night (stayed Friday and Saturday night in June) and Again in Nov. 0f 2006. Nov 06 we got it for $50.00 per night (Friday and Saturday) Got upgraded to a King each time without asking. Up on the 17th floor the 1st time and the 10th floor the second time. Rooms are very clean and nice. Beds were also nice. Nov. 06 was very busy, MN Wild Hockey was intown - which we went to, the MN Gophers were playing Iowa - I think everyone in the hotel was from Iowa. Also the MN Counties Ag Confrence was going on the same weekend.Only complaint was the 2nd time we were able to hear the couple in the next room having sex. Only thing I can say is that she was very vocal on where he should put it and how good he was doing her. Made me and my wife both have a good laugh! Well worth the free entertainment!!!Parking is easy and also driving right to the front door is easy. Well worth the $50 - normal rooms go for $100 per night - Kings more.
powerplantop Posted October 29, 2007 Report Posted October 29, 2007 Nice property, easy check in, given king on the 19th floor. Hotel food is expensive but lots of choices close by. Free parking, $9.95 per day for internet.
frigidnd77 Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I have just joined this group but I have been using name your own price for at least 4 years now. I have probably stayed in Bloomington Sheraton over 15 times. I love this hotel due to the close proximity to shopping, restaurants, and free shuttles to & from the MSP airport. They also allow you to park there for up to 10 days for free as long as you stayed there one night. Two thumbs up. I generally have paid 40-50 per night not higher.
