thereuare Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 What is your maximum bid? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
DCGUY9 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 I reserved a suite at the Marriott courtyard for $125 and a standard king at the Sofitel for $185. Basically, if I can get a 4* in the city center for under $80 that would be great.
thereuare Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 At the 4* level you have seven re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $45, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $50, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. DCGUY9 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 Thanks so much...Do you know which hotel(s) I will probably get. I know that nothing is certain but any guesses??Thanks!
DCGUY9 Posted September 20, 2006 Author Report Posted September 20, 2006 Actually, now I am thinking of just bidding for the 2.5* and hope for the Courtyard. Do you think I'll get that one?If so, how much should I bid? Max bid would be $50
thereuare Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 The Courtyard i don't think would be a high probability outcome... it's not a common 2.5* hotel we see won in this zone, and rates for your particular nite are high.Let us know if this changes your perspective on bidding 2.5* and how you want to proceed. dahammer Posted September 20, 2006 Report Posted September 20, 2006 Actually, now I am thinking of just bidding for the 2.5* and hope for the Courtyard. Do you think I'll get that one?The Courtyard is the only reported 2.5*you might also be the first to report a new 2.5* Hotel or get upgraded to a 3*. This is a difficult property to get during the week. Good Luck!
DCGUY9 Posted January 27, 2007 Author Report Posted January 27, 2007 We ended up splurging and staying at the Sofitel. Wonderful hotel.
