dahammer Posted September 7, 2006 Report Posted September 7, 2006 I needed to stay in the Wayne, NJ area, but this area only has 2* properties. I didn't want to stay at a Wellesley Inn or worse, so went over to the Saddle Brook zone after a quick Hotwire check. Hotwire had a 2.5* for $90 that appeared to be the Amerisuites, so I thought I might be able to do better on Priceline. As always, accessed PL through Savingsbarn.com, selected a 2.5* in the Paramus-Hackensack zone and bid $50. I received a counteroffer to increase my bid by $14, so I closed my browser and re-accessed PL and added the Saddlebrook-Hasbrouck Heights zone and bid $55. Success!Your Offer Price: $55.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.72 Total Charges*: $70.72 The direct rate is $169 so I am pretty happy with the savings.
thereuare Posted September 8, 2006 Report Posted September 8, 2006 Nice to see this hotel still participating after the switch-over from the Radisson.Hope you at least thought about a chicken parm for dinner :)Thanks for bididng thru SavingsBarn.comHope you're enjoying your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dahammer Posted September 8, 2006 Author Report Posted September 8, 2006 Hope you at least thought about a chicken parm for dinner thought about it....but ended up going to the Grand Buffet in Ramsey....found out that Priceline paid $62.20 for room and tax, so $55 looks pretty close to the minimum. BTW, while checking out prices on Hotwire, I noticed that the Jersey City Hyatt was $115 earlier in the day then dropped to $105 around 5:00 PM.
