michtrif
Hello everyone,I saw a television spot that stated the best deals for hotels and travel in general were through your site. I am in charge of booking flights and hotels for the president of a small company. We are on a very tight budget and we need to stay at The Millenium Hilton because the conference is within walking distance to the hotel. I WOULD LIKE TO GET YOUR IDEAS ON HOW I CAN BE ASSURED OF GETTING THAT HOTEL AT THE BEST PRICE. sincerely,MICHTRIF Link to comment
thereuare
Do you already have a reservation at this property? In checking HERE it appears that it is sold-out for these dates. You can't bid for a specific property, and since you're company is on a tight budget, would it be worth it if they could stay near the conference? Given that NYC is so compact and public transportation so readily available, would it be worthwhile to save $50, $100, $150 per nite in exchange for taking a $10-$20 taxi (or $2 subway) to the conference location? If you must have the Millenium Hilton and don't yet have a reservation you can use our BetterChecker to check various sites without having to go to each site on your won and re-enter your dates at each site.Let us know if/how we can be of further help or if you have any questions regarding the above. I really like the idea of staying at a more remote hotel, but or persident is a women and safety is paramount for us. How can I get the hotel I really like with the needs required buy my company. Sorry for sounding so inept in setting this up, but anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you,Michtrif Link to comment

dahammer
Michtrif, I'm not sure if you understand how Priceline or the "We Have Maps" part of this board work. Priceline is an "opaque" service that allows hotels to sell what would normally be empty rooms at a discount. It is Opaque in that the name of the hotel is not revealed until your bid is accepted. The maps part of this board allow others to see the location of hotels that have been reported here. From here you can see recent wins, go to the hotel's website, or access photos if available. Just because the Hilton matches all of your criteria does not mean that you will get it using priceline. When using Priceline, you are bidding at a specific minimum star level in a zone of your choice. If your bid is equal to or greater than the minimum "offer" price that is set by the hotel then priceline executes the transaction. You can't cancel once your bid is accepted. I would not bid on anything without eyes wide open, especially those of your colleague, you don't want to disappoint the Pres. :) Link to comment
