I'm trying to find a good deal for a hotel in New York City from August 21st through August 25th. I just graduated from college and have very little cash. I'd like to pay around $120/night. I tried plugging that in for three and four stars (wishing for the stars!) in priceline but of course came up with nothing. Can anyone point me to a good direction?

thanks!

Looking at Midtown and SoHo (open to suggestions elsewhere too)

Need to be in Manhattan

Dates are semi flexible, a day or two, but would really like to be there monday 21st - friday 25th.

Back up = hostel or staying with a casual friend (would prefer a hotel room)

Only need one room (1-2 people but most likely just me)

It would be of great help if you could post some of the conventional (regular rates from the hotel websites) rates for some of the "target" hotels. (hotels that have won in the past in your required zone) and we will formulate a strategy....If rates are high=low availability to PL and if they are low (sub 250)= higher opportunities for a win!!

Try this and let us know.....

Thanks so much for your help. Unfortunatly, I followed the instructions exactly and couldn't get anything. After the last try I selected all zones, went up to $125 and lowered it to three stars and still got rejected. Any suggestions or should I just look into finding a cheap B&B or boutique hotel?
