cheapbrass Posted July 12, 2006 Report Posted July 12, 2006 From what I have read...if i choose a 3* hotel in jersey city...I will likely get the Hyatt or the Double Tree. Anyone know what the likely 2.5* hotels are? and if they are near the PATH station?Also...on a previous purchase i made on price-line, i was given the option of 'extending my stay' at the same price for the same hotel after i won the bid. Is this standard practice with priceline? So if I bid for 1 day stay and it is accepted....will i automatically be offered to 'extend my stay' so that I could add another weeks worth of hotel after I already know what hotel I will be getting? My goal is to get a hotel room near a PATH station (star level does not really matter) from July 16th to July 29th (13 days total) for under $90 a nite. In order to make sure I get a good hotel that meets my criteria...i plan on bidding for 1 hotel day only and then 'extending the stay' for the remainder of the time. Is this a good strategy? does bidding for 1 day vs. 13 days lower or increase my chances at gettign a lower per day rate? Thanks for any help.

The other hotels are easy walking distance, maybe 10 minutes max.Very useful Post here with links to PATH etcExtending your stay:Pl TermsThe number of additional nights you request cannot exceed the number of nights in your original reservation and you may only add nights to the beginning or end of your staySo your strategy is no good :)
