dahammer Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 started same day bidding through savingsbarn.com and selected the Paramus-Hackensack zone, bid $51 for a 3*; rejected. Went down to 2.5* without changing my bid, rejected again. Closed browser and started a new bid by adding the Teaneck-Ft Lee zone and increased bid to $56, success:Your Offer Price: $56.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.42 Total Charges: $71.42 The online rate was $169, so I'm pleased with the win. High speed internet is free. Maybe I got the "priceline" room because my King was pretty small with tired furnishings. This is a two story property that looks like it was an older Holiday Inn convert. I guess management thinks that offering a premimum mattress and "european" pillows (whatever that means) makes this 3* Crowne Plaza worthy.....kind of like putting lipstick on a pig.....
thereuare Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 Before Crowne Plaza this was a Radisson... i forget what it was before that.I'm not certain but i don't think there is an elevator which goes to the second floor, some friends had a problem there awhile back. Management did what they could, but as you say, it's an older property. Best attribute is that it's adjacent to the mall (which used to be better too!)Thanks for the post (and the SB links usage).Enjoy your stay.
