Priceline Hotel: Bidding help for Copenhagen

Hi,

I'm new to this and would like some advice on bidding for 4* Copenhagen August 25th - 27th. I'm looking for 2 rooms and would like to stay within $110. I have been trying all of last week, with bids of up to $105.

Searching the forum I see the Marriott comes up a lot on 4* wins, and Sofitel sometimes. When I checked Marriott.com beginning of last week it had rooms for DKK 1895,- / $291 available. Now it's sold out on Marriott website. Perhaps there is a big thing happening in CPH that weekend.

Sofitel Plaza currently have rooms at $246.

Since the dates are still a few months out I have booked at 3* at $95 all in, which I can cancel if something opens up on Priceline.

Would appreciate any advice on how I should try to get a 4* win.

Thanks.

Ok, thanks.

I've bid up to $110, no luck. Will keep my eye on the Marriott website to see if availability changes. Still a few months out so I'll keep trying and see what happens.

Any experience with hotels been fully booked 2-3 months ahead, then having availability closer to the date?

HI...living in Oslo, Norway, I can say that Scandanavia in general, especially the capitals of Oslo, Stockholm, Copenhagen and Helsinki, are PACKED out in the summer! At my office, we had to cancel people coming for business because there were NO hotels available in Oslo!! I know Copenhagen is a happening place in summer...They have a HUGE international jazz festival, but I am pretty sure it's in July...Just keep trying to bid as often as you can! Something may turn up!! Just book a cancellable backup!!

Good Luck!

Thanks norwegianwife! I actually live in Oslo as well! But I don't have any experience with CPH hotels, all I can tell is that they are as expensive as Norway, if not more ...ouch.

Marriott Copenhagen inventory goes up and down all the time, suddenly last week they had inventory but only for Executive rooms. Now it's sold out again. I will keep checking.

I've discovered a possible 2 nights for 1 deal I may get through my employer for the SAS Radisson Scandinavia, but I see that has very mixed reviews on Tripadvisor. A lot of people hated it, so I'm a bit reluctant. If will keep trying lowball bids every once in a while.

Thanks!
