nursekev Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 Originally tried to get a 3* in the Harrisburg/Hershey area but did not want to go above 50 dollars. No luck so I did the same with 2.5* but was not successful. Bid 36 for Harrisburg Central 2*, denied. Added Harrisburg West for 40, received counter-offer of 52 dollars. Signed off and back on, added Harrisburg-Hershey for 44, accepted. For one night it should do the trick. Placed bid the day before.Kevin
nursekev Posted June 1, 2006 Author Report Posted June 1, 2006 Forgot to add that this is the HI in Mechanicsburg. Cheapest price on their web site is 108, so I feel like I got a very good bargain.Kevin
dahammer Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 way to go!! I believe this is a new property for the list. Not the most ideal location for access to Hershey Park, a 30 minute drive, but weekend rates in Hershey can top $200 a night. :)
nursekev Posted June 1, 2006 Author Report Posted June 1, 2006 Yes, I couldn't believe how high the rates were for most hotels in the Hershey area, even for a Thursday. It is a little out of the way but at least the price is good. And our two kids get to eat free!Kevin
dahammer Posted June 1, 2006 Report Posted June 1, 2006 go to any Giant supermarket in Pennsylvania and you can get discounted Hershey tix for $33 Adults, $24 Juniors. :) A family of 4 could stay here and pay for admission to Hershey Park with the savings compared to paying $200 or more for a room that's 5-10 minutes from the park :)
