sisse
Hi all! I have learned alot from this website in the last week and I am now ready to start bidding. I'm not sure if I understand the rebidding zone though.Any suggestions? We will be there 09/21-09/24. Looking for 4 star, but would settle for a 3. My first choice is Midtown West, but I would be happy with Midtown East with $150 being the max. Thanks Link to comment
dahammer
This is a good place to learn about priceline rebidding Link to comment
sisse
O.K.- I've got the re-bid zone thing down. Can someone help me with a bidding strategy, please? Is $150 too low for this time of year? Link to comment
thereuare
Would you also be willing to accept UM/CPS? Those three zone (MTE, MTW, and UM/CPS) are all usually good for the typical tourist and gives you more bidding opportunities. sisse
UM/CPS would be ok-Thanks Link to comment
thereuare
My guess is that your maximum bid is probably not enough for a 4*, but we can tell for certain by trying the following. You have two re-bid zones when bidding 4* in NYC. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zoen...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $150.There is a good chance you could be successful for a 3* at your limit, but i don't know if you want to hold out for a 4* if prices come down or try for a 3* now. Try the above and we'll cross that bridge when we get there.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. sisse
No luck with the above strategy :-( I would be willing to try a 3 star, but I do not want the Paramount (MTW). What would you suggest? Thanks for your time Link to comment
thereuare
Do you want to bid for a 3* but not include the MTW zone?To not include the MTW zone is the only way you can ensure avoiding the Paramount. thereuare
Only one re-bid zone at the 3* level (and given you don't want to bid the MTW zone i'm not so certain of your chances of success as i thought any success at this level would come from the Paramount).Select 3* UM/CPS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTE...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* UM/CPS and MTE...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130.If the above is rejected, wait 24 hours and proceed as follows:Select 3* UM/CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* MTE...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 3* UM/CPS and MTE...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes.
