wcj1 Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Taxes and fees on 3 nights were $35.94.Previous bid was $68. I am so used to getting and seeing the Hyatts for Union Square East that I am a little disappointed. I was avoiding the SOMA zone even though the Marriott often comes up at $55 and has a great location, just because I have liked my previous stays at the Park and Grand so much. Although I suppose I should expect this since I have yet to repeat a hotel on separate stays.BillJ
thereuare Posted October 30, 2003 Report Posted October 30, 2003 Thanks for the report. It often seems that hotels come and go in streaks. I'd really like to know how the internals at Priceline work... for instance if two hotels offer the same rate, how do they determine which one is 'won'. Mosi Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 What nights was this stay for? I am in SF next week, and wanted to avoid this hotel if possible. I too had received them on a previous stay about 2 months ago for the price you listed. I didn't have any huge negatives for it, other than it was farther away from where I was working than I liked. I hate to have to drive to my location in the mornings as it quickly compounds the parking bills. Also, being at the top of Nob Hill, it really is not too fun walking back up the hill after going down to North Beach or the financial district for any night time excursions.
thereuare Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Mosi,Sub-title of the thread indicate April 8, 2004 to April 11, 2004.Figured i'd answer since i didn't know when WCJ1 would see your question. Mosi Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Thanks, The posting in October had me convinced that the dates were for November... It all makes since now.
wcj1 Posted November 14, 2003 Author Report Posted November 14, 2003 I bid early. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not.My new theory is that if Expedia has an "Expedia Special Rate" for the Hyatts on your dates, it is more likely to come up.I do not know if this is 100% true, nor do I know if there is a correlation between the Expedia rate and the lowest priceline bid. I may be completely wrong too.BillJ
