frugalnotcheap Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 Some colleagues and I are attending a conference on these dates and would like to stay in the Financial District area. A quick look shows some huge prices for these dates. Our conference is saying $500/night for the Holiday Inn in Wall Street. Could Priceline maybe do a little better than that? For convenience sake, I would say we could bid up to $300/night to do a crapshoot. But my boss doesn't want to stay anywhere but Financial District (or Downtown/SoHo if we use Priceline). Thanks for any tips.
thereuare Posted April 18, 2006 Report Posted April 18, 2006 For $500/nite you can get the Ritz Carlton (but unfortunately is only available for one nite of your stay)What star rating do you need? The Embassy Suites is available from $350/nite (and i would sooner take this before bidding $300 on an unknown with my boss'/company money :) )The Holiday Inn SoHO (note that this is different than the Holiday Inn Wall St) can be had for about $250/nite.I do understand that your boss only wants to stay in Downtown, but i do have to mention the Jersey City Hyatt is only a 7 minute PATH train ride away and could probably be had very affordably as well (just wouldn't want to be waiting for the PATH with my boss if traveling late at nite (ie- after 10pm)... ferry is also a great way to travel across the river, if you would consider that idea) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
frugalnotcheap Posted August 9, 2007 Author Report Posted August 9, 2007 Boss ended up taking the Embassy Suites option. Thanks.
