frugalnotcheap Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 4* in Downtown or Copley Sq., Sunday April 30, one night. Since it's a Sunday night, I'm hoping for a good deal. My max would be $75; willing to entertain a broader area if I can't get something for $75.
thereuare Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 It may be a Sunday nite but rates are not inexpensive. This is how i would bid, using your two re-bid zones.Select 4* Downtown...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Copley...Bid $55, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $60, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $65, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* Downtown and Copley...Bid $70, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $73, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $75.Let us know how it goes. frugalnotcheap Posted March 23, 2006 Author Report Posted March 23, 2006 Tried entire strategy -- no luck. Is a Sat or even the fri. night better to consider? Just looking for one night during that week or weekend.
thereuare Posted March 23, 2006 Report Posted March 23, 2006 You can try the above for the other potential nites of your stay, but i think your maximum bid is too low for success in either of these areas. thenewbie Posted March 24, 2006 Report Posted March 24, 2006 Tried entire strategy -- no luck. Is a Sat or even the fri. night better to consider? Just looking for one night during that week or weekend. If you've tried the above for Fri. or Sat. night and failed, I think you'll need to consider the Cambridge or the Airport/Revere areas to be successful within your budget.
travlinfeller Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 I've never gotten any 4* in Boston -- weekend or weekday -- for under $80.
thenewbie Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 That isn't much help, as the 4* level has been won around $46 in the past.
frugalnotcheap Posted August 9, 2007 Author Report Posted August 9, 2007 Unfortunately, this trip fell through so I didn't end up going. So it's good the strategy didn't work out. Apologies for not posting earlier.
