teagteag Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 I'm staying in Vegas March 17th-19th and would like a nice 3-4* if possible. Need to book two rooms and max I would like to pay per room is $150-200. Your thoughts on Bidding strategy?
teagteag Posted March 12, 2006 Author Report Posted March 12, 2006 After reviewing the zones, I'm considering:Strip - Fremont Street Area 4*West of Strip 4*
thereuare Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Before suggesting a strategy for the above, are you familiar with Vegas and been there before?I don't know the purpose of your trip, but i ask because the above zones are not where the 'typical' visitor chooses to stay. teagteag Posted March 12, 2006 Author Report Posted March 12, 2006 I'd have to say I'm very familiar with Vegas, but slightly confused on the zoning Priceline uses. Generally I stay on the Strip ranging from Mandalay Bay all the way down to around the Mirage.
dahammer Posted March 12, 2006 Report Posted March 12, 2006 Generally I stay on the Strip ranging from Mandalay Bay all the way down to around the Mirage.Priceline considers this "Las Vegas Strip Vacinity" so Fremont Street and West of strip are two different zones. So anything with a 4* rating in these three areas is ok for you?
thereuare Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 Generally I stay on the Strip ranging from Mandalay Bay all the way down to around the Mirage. Is this the area you want to stay at for this trip too? thereuare Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I'm confused... do you want to stay on the strip OR fremont? (or either and it really doesn't matter... although these two areas are quite far apart and have a very different 'feel') Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
teagteag Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Posted March 13, 2006 Sorry. I'll avoid Fremont and just do the strip. I don't want to stay downtown.
thereuare Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 The problem with Priceline these days is that bidding 4* Strip can land you the Westin, which isn't exactly on the strip (although it is nearby)... not sure if this would be a 'deal breaker' for you or not.It may not matter as you can book Bally's directly thru their website ($199/nite) and then use their "Best Price Guarantee" to have them match the price less 25% from EasyClickTravel. Would bring cost to ~$139/nite ($185 x .75)Does that work for you? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
teagteag Posted March 13, 2006 Author Report Posted March 13, 2006 I don't mind the Westin, however that is a pretty good deal for Bally's. How are their rooms in your opinion?
thereuare Posted March 13, 2006 Report Posted March 13, 2006 I like Ballys and would have no problem staying there, although i never have, so i can't comment directly on their rooms. The location is great and it is a solid property without the scores of tourists coming thru your hotel to see the 'lions' or some other attraction. If you want to stay at a hotel with some curb appeal or show then look elsewhere, but if you're looking for a good value at a solid property i think the above is a very good deal. klmrph Posted March 14, 2006 Report Posted March 14, 2006 Thanks for the tip about EasyClickTravel also having lower rates than the Caesar's properties. Caesar's Palace is also available on easyclicktravel.com for your dates for $205 which is less than their website price of $270 per night. You could book Caesar's for $154 per night with the guarantee.
