ErthAnjelJ9 Posted April 4, 2019 Report Posted April 4, 2019 Decided to go to Philly this weekend instead and trying to decide if bidding may be a good option. Preferably, looking to stay in the following areas: City Center, Historic District, Rittenhouse Square. Checked both Hotwire and Priceline and the lowest was a Hotwire Hot Rate deal: 4-star Hotel in Center City West - Rittenhouse Square area at $150.
thereuare Posted April 4, 2019 Report Posted April 4, 2019 If this is the HOTWIRE $150 hotel you're referring to above as being the least expensive: 4* HOTWIRE Center City West - Rittenhouse Square for $150.00 Free Internet Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Roll-in Shower ==> Club Quarters would be my best guess for this one To take this HOTWIRE offer, or try bidding for a hotel thru PRICELINE, comes down to how much you like this property vs. being willing to accept any property (within the zone and star rating parameters you stipulate). The HOTWIRE offer does have a good 4.0/5.0 TA rating and our current Hotwire Coupon offers an extra $15 off... so how much would you need to save in order to accept the risk of more 'unknown' factors about the hotel? If you do decide to bid, note that Priceline continues to move/hide their bidding page, so we have set up the following BiddingForHotelRooms.com site which you can bookmark now to provide the quickest and easiest access to the bidding page. If you do decide to bid let us know your maximum bid price and we can suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how you'd like to proceed, or how it goes if you take the offer above, and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
ErthAnjelJ9 Posted April 5, 2019 Author Report Posted April 5, 2019 Decided to extend my search, as the airport area was still a reasonable drive and had better parking deals. Chose a 3* Hot Rate Deal for $86. Thanks for your help! Even without being able to use the coupon, I am pleased with the price and location. Awesome! You're staying at the aloft Philadelphia Airport Price summary Room $86.00 ($86.00 per night x 1 night x 1 room) Taxes & fees$21.92 Trip total (USD)$107.92 Trip total per night (USD)$107.92
thereuare Posted April 5, 2019 Report Posted April 5, 2019 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see you found something that works for your plans in Philly for the nite. Not sure what you're doing in town (or how familiar you are with Philly) but i like these 3 places: Dalessandro's Steaks 600 Wendover St --> bit of a hike from Center City (or from the Airport) but probably my favorite cheesesteak of all time (NOTE: almost always a long line and extremely limited seating) Los Caballitos Cantina 1651 East Passyunk Avenue --> food was 'ok' but excellent frozen margaritas... seemed to have an active bar scene so even good if you just stop by for a drink Center City Pretzel Co 816 Washington Ave --> crazy hours as they are more of a 'factory' that supplies many of the carts and stores around town. Great if you can catch them right out of the oven (which you usually can), but more difficult is to catch them when they're open: Monday-Friday: 4AM – 12PM Saturday: 4AM – 12PM Sunday: 6:30AM – 10:30AM And one more bonus: If you happen to be traveling to/from Jersey: Cass's Mart Pretzel Bakery 202 US-130, Cinnaminson (it's in a strip mall) --> just ask what is hot and just came out Thank you for using the HOTWIRE links on the board and sharing your win, helping us update the Philadelphia Hotwire Hotel List with the new amenity set for this property. Have a great time in Philly! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
