Neelee Posted March 20, 2019 Report Posted March 20, 2019 Looking to stay in Carson, CA for grand aunt's 80th Birthday. Relatives are staying at the Doubletree in Carson, which Priceline lists as a 3 star (zone 20 - Carson, Compton, Gardena). The zone list has grown quite a bit since I've last bid in the Los Angeles area. Any suggestions on bidding strategy?
AaronJB Posted March 21, 2019 Report Posted March 21, 2019 So that we can suggest a strategy tailored to what you are looking for, what would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Are you looking only for the Doubletree or something nearby acceptable as well? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Neelee Posted March 22, 2019 Author Report Posted March 22, 2019 Yes, I am looking to get into the DoubleTree Carson, if possible. Current rates are between $155 to $185. Hoping for 40-50% of that. Thank you very much
thereuare Posted March 22, 2019 Report Posted March 22, 2019 I'm currently seeing rates at the Doubletree at $185/nite for your dates and a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer that i believe to be the Doubletree at $145/nite (less the BB 5% off Priceline Coupon): 3* Carson - Compton - Gardena (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $146/nite with: Pets Allowed Free Parking Business Center Restaurant Free Internet Indoor or Outdoor Pool Free Internet in room Fitness Center ==> best guess for this property would be the Doubletree Carson If you still do a lot of bidding on priceline and at times have trouble locating the bidding page (as they are constantly moving/hiding it) be aware that we have set up the following page which you can bookmark for easy access: BiddingForHotelRooms.com. However, if you're trying to specifically target the Doubletree for this trip bidding is probably not recommended as there is no way to target (or avoid) a specific property when bidding on PRICELINE... a PRICELINE EXPRESS offer where you have a reasonable guess that it's the hotel you're hoping for would be a better option. Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know whatever you decide to do for this trip. PS- it would also be appreciated if you closed your previous threads: SeaTac Priceline Bidding and New York City Priceline hotel threads with whatever you ended up doing for each of those trips. Please remember to follow-up your threads with your wins/decisions as you make them (even if you don't ultimately use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, cancel the trip, book direct, etc) as this help keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone... as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
