cfed3499
I am trying to bid on a 3* hotel in North Bangor, ME. I would like to get the Courtyard Bangor. There seem to be two hotels with all the same amenities, Courtyard Bangor and Four Points Sheraton. Is there any way to bid so that I might get Courtyard? I looked at reported hotel wins for this area, and both come up. Four Points Sheraton: Free Internet Access Free Parking Business Center Free Internet In Public Areas Free Internet In Room Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Pets Allowed Restaurant Swimming Pool Indoor Swimming Pool Courtyard Bangor: Free Internet Access Free Parking Business Center Free Internet In Public Areas Free Internet In Room Fitness Center Handicapped Rooms/Facilities No Smoking Rooms/Facilities Restaurant Swimming Pool Indoor Swimming Pool The only difference I see is that Pets are allowed at Four Points Sheraton... but I guess you can't bid on "No Pets Allowed"! Thanks for any bidding advice! Link to comment
AaronJB
Unfortunately, there is no way to bid for a particular property. Is the Courtyard a must? If not, what would be your desired budget per night for this stay? Please remember to return to BetterBidding and use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPSandHOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. thereuare
Few issues here... First, if you're trying to bid on PRICELINE there is no way to target, or avoid, a specific property... you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid... and there are other 3* hotels in this zone, so there would be more than just the two you mention above. As well, as there are no amenities associated with the hotel you're bidding on (any amenities shown on the PRICELINE bidding page are amenities that are offered at all hotels of that star rating in the zone), so i'm not sure the point of the research you did above of listing the amenities of the two properties; even if the amenities were different, what can be done with this information? If you're trying to target (or avoid) a specific property, PRICELINE EXPRESS or HOTWIRE are your better options, since the amenities shown are in relation to a specific property being offered and therefore can be researched. What is your ultimately objective for this trip... bidding on PRICELINE or trying to target a specific property? cfed3499
Sorry - I wasn't sure if in the bidding process you could request a particular amenity that the other 3* properties didn't have. I noticed that someone mentioned they have the Courtyard in June, when they bid on it, so I thought I might try... the Sheraton is probably the only one I wouldn't want in particular ... but maybe I'll just wing it! I'll report back. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
