beldwell
I'm looking for a hotel for the night of 3/16. I'm going to be in town for a play at the Oriental Theater. Since this is a very centralized trip, I'm hoping to get a hotel as close to the area as I can in case the weather is horrible. We leave the first thing on 3/17 on Amtrak, and I’m afraid that there will be St. Pat’s crowds to try to avoid. It seems like there are a TON of choices within $10 of each other, so my deciding factor would be easiest walk to theater. I’m seeing the following options, and I’d like some ID help 4 star – River North for $112 with the following amenities - Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower – 90% recommended 3 star – Theater District/Loop for $113 with the following amenities - Free breakfast, Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access – 100% recommended 3.5 star – River North for $114 with the following amenities - Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower – 90% recommended 4 star – Theater District/Loop for $118 with the following amenities - Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access – 95% recommended Link to comment
AaronJB
I'm seeing on HOTWIRE: 4* HOTWIRE Theater District - Loop for $118.00 Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Hi-Speed Internet ==> Not certain - a guess is that this may be the new Cambria in the Loop. 4* HOTWIRE River North for $112.00 Boutique Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Blind Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> Best guess would be the Hotel Chicago. 3.5* HOTWIRE River North for $114.00 Free Internet Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Golf Blind Accessible Deaf Accessible Travel Accessible Room Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking Roll-in Shower ==> Best guess would be the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza. 3* HOTWIRE Theater District - Loop for $113.00 Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Indoor Pool Smoke Free Fitness Pool Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet ==> A guess in this case would be the Hyatt Place Loop. Given the location of the Oriental, you would want to lean more towards the River (the South end of the River North area or the North end of the Loop area.) The potential Hotel Chicago would be a good example of that, plus easy to walk to more dining options at night vs the Loop. The Holiday Inn would be a little too far West and while not a bad property, other options on the list would be nicer hotel-wise for the money. It's a quick cab ride from River North to Union Station, as well or from River North hotels to the Oriental. St Patrick's Day crowds won't really be an issue until later in the day in most cases. Plus, you can watch the river being dyed green. I also see on PRICELINE EXPRESS (please confirm the correct dates of travel are showing on the detail page after clicking the link below.) 4.5* Downtown - River North for $137 Pets Allowed Restaurant Indoor or Outdoor Pool Fitness Center No Smoking Rooms/Facilities >>>This would be a possible match for the Palomar. This gets a little further North in the River North area, but is right next to a Red Line stop and is quite a nice property. I'm very familiar with Chicago and would be happy to answer any hotel or city questions. Let us know what you decide or if we can be of any further assistance.
