Andrew In Florida Posted January 27, 2018 Report Posted January 27, 2018 I usually don't start booking these weekend getaways around Florida until after spring break on April 1st. February is still "high tourist season", so there aren't many deals at 2.5-3.0 star hotels along either cost for less than $70-92. PRICELINE didn't have anything under $70. Sometimes HOTWIRE surprises me. I typically won't look at anything less than a 2.5 star, but I want to travel... and this was the cheapest of about 10 regions that I normally watch. 3 nights will run $210. Starting in April there will be a number of hotels in the $48-51 range near St. Petersburg (not much further away). For now, $57 is decent. I honestly expected to get the Clearwater Motel 8. I suspect this is a little nicer.
