dahammer Posted March 2, 2006 Report Share Posted March 2, 2006 accessed priceline through Savingsbarn.com and started bidding at the 3* level at $60, won on my first bid:Your Offer Price: $60.00 Taxes & Service Fees: $15.82 Total Charges: $75.82 earlier in the day checked out Hotwire but there were no hotels available in the North Bergen County-Rockland County zones. Maybe it was snowing with 5-7" in the forecast? Later in the day, Hotwire had a 3.5* for $79 with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business (Perl River Hilton?) and a 3* for $119 with Restaurant, Pool, Fitness (Sheraton?). Felt a little buyers remorse as my first bid was accepted, but with all the snow in the area, I didn't want to get shut out or even worse, pay full rack rate for my accomodations!! The rate on Sheraton's website was $189 so I'm pretty pleased. This would be a great location in the fall to check out the Hudson Valley while the leaves are changing color or heading up to West Point. Link to comment
